How much will it cost?

There’s no straightforward answer to this question. Projects and clients are different in terms of scope and sizing and therefore the investment packages are customized to the clients needs, as there is no one-size-fits-all solution to pricing. Thoughtful branding takes time when done correctly, from research phase, to strategy and design.

Can I have 'just a logo'?

A successful brand has many elements to it to bring it together and create a cohesive and recognisable identity. For this reason, we do not believe in ‘just a logo’ and do not offer that as a service alone.

Can I get my logo next week?

GOOD design, takes time. The logos we all love and see out there were the results of tons of research, craft, customized strategy, thousands of sketches and iterations. We don’t want to compromise the quality of the work or give you a design that we know could have been 10 times better. The quickest time frame to get your business equipped with the basics is estimated at 4 weeks.

How long will a branding project take?

Here’s a general timeline you can expect with each of our services, but please keep in mind that these are subject to change based on the details of your individual project! If you’re choosing multiple services, these timeframes can overlap and we’ll determine the final timeline once we learn more about your project. It’s important to understand that the longer you take to provide feedback or additional info, the longer the project will take.

Branding: 8-10 weeks
Collaterals design: 3-6 weeks
Collaterals production: 4-6 weeks
Web Development: 4-8 weeks Social Media Strategy: 4-5 weeks

What is a mood board and why is it needed?

A mood board or a visual reference board is a collection of images which represent the aesthetic of the brand. While designing a brand, we find the mood board as an essential tool to guarantee the identity is specific, unique and on track. We encourage our clients to continuously utilise their mood board for making any visual based decisions in their business. This can include interior design, social media, photo shoots, websites, video and more!

I currently have branding, but I’m looking for a refresh. Is this something you do?

Yes! We’ve worked with several companies who were in need of a brand refresh. We understand that while you may love your existing brand, you might want to make some tweaks to give it a fresh new look. We’re here to offer guidance and branding best practices, and we won’t stop until you’re satisfied!

Can you help with suppliers and manage the printing?

We can recommend the best printeries in Taiwan based on project requirements and budget. In addition to this, we can also do on-site supervision for you to ensure that the branding produced meets our aesthetic and requirements.

What do I actually receive?

In the end, you receive a folder delivered via Google Drive, the deliverables are:

  • Your brand identity files in all colours and file types.
  • Your brand font files ready to download and use.
  • Your brand style guide and brand kit which is one big document reviewing your brand persona, brand foundations, visual reference board / mood board, colour palette, how to use your colours / colour combinations, your brand identity overview, brand fonts and type hierarchy, additional brand elements (patterns, photos, shapes, textures) and a visual on your brand in use!

Once I sign the contract, what is the next step?

After the signed contract is delivered, we will sent a detailed project timeline and will dive right into the process with the Brand Questionnaire. This is fundamental for our work as it has customized questions that really narrow down your brand/business vision, details and goals.

Do you offer web design & development?

Yes, many of the projects I take on include web design. We design exclusively for the Shopify platform for several important reasons. We take care of website design and have engineers on hand to help with development, aka coding and getting a website up and running. Note: For really simple and straightforward website needs (i.e. portfolio page, small restaurant, presentation website, etc) We are more than happy to help you via Squarespace or other platform, with minor CSS implementation.

Why should I choose Shopify over other website platforms?

We build all of my website on Shopify for many reasons. We have experience in many website building platforms but prefer Shopify for these reasons:

  • Shopify is very ‘client friendly’ aka it’s very easy for a client to be able to jump on and make any edits to text, photos, products and blogs.
  • It’s one of the best for design freedom. Compared to platforms such as Shopline, we have a lot more freedom in designing the pages how we’d like it.
  • Opportunities for custom CSS are huge! Custom CSS is basically adding snippets of code to the website which give us stylish sections that are beyond the bounds of standard templates. It’s the opportunity to create more interactive sections and unique designs to create a more informal and on brand experience.
  • We also choose Shopify as I see the platform itself as a progressive and optimistic company that are continuously improving and growing - therefore carrying your website with opportunities of growth and expansion.

I need to be able to update the website myself… is that possible and is it easy?

Yes! This is exactly why I choose Shopify. It’s important to us that you feel confident in maintaining the website yourself and keeping it up to date!

How do I prepare for a website project?

Copywriting and images. If you don't want to include your copywriting in the initial Branding Project, you will need to provide your copy to Phil Studio before you build your website, and if you can't provide images, we also offer an Imagery Photograph service to help you arrange for a photographer to suit your brand.

How long does a website project take?

Website projects can usually take 4-8 weeks. Includes back and forth discussion, design, testing and on-boarding time. It’s important to understand that the longer you take to provide your website content and feedback, the longer the project will take.

Are there other costs associated with having a website?

Other costs associated with your website will be:

  • Your Shopify plan. This is what makes your website live and specifies your limitations within the platform (average cost is around USD $40 per month)
  • Your domain. This if you address as to where your website will live. You can buy a domain through Shopify. Domains purchased through Shopify start at $11 USD per year.

Will Shopify's payment system be difficult to interface with?

Currently Shopify offers third party payment platforms such as Green World, HiTrust, TapPay and PayNow. We recommend PayNow, which has a lower handling fee of 2.5% and TWD $17 for a single transaction. PayNow works with a wide range of banks and offers a variety of payment methods such as credit cards and ATM transfers.
